As part of: Immersion course run by Bonnie Christine, I designed a pattern collection and an art print  inspired by my love for rugby.
The collection blends analytical designs with abstract elements, reflecting the dynamic and strategic nature of the sport.
Some elements of this project began as hand-drawn illustrations and some used watercolours, which I later digitised to create the final designs. This blend of traditional and digital techniques adds a unique, personal touch to the work.
Design 1 and 2: (Below)
(left one) was inspired by the crowd at the rugby match and the raised seating as well as the range of people that enjoy the rugby.
(right one) was based of kicks and the direction the ball get kicked through out the game.
Design 3 and 4
(left one) is based off movement of the players throughout the game, and the over lap of the design represents the two team.
(right one) is inspired by movement and the speckles of dirt that get kicked up through out the game.
Design 5 and 6
(left one) is a blender pattern - inspired by the dirt that can get kicked up through a rugby game.
(right one) is a Hero pattern, its very literal but it, encompasses the players and the main entertainers of the game.
Design 7 and 8
(left one) had a few elements for the inspiration, including shapes from the rugby ball team Scotland use, along with shapes from the kit design and the logo of the Scotland team.
(Right one) is another blender pattern and the inspiration for this one is the goose bumps on the crowds arms that can happen through out the game at different points.
